bott strengthens sustainability with FESPA UK Waste Accreditation

bott is proud to announce that it has achieved FESPA UK Waste Accreditation, marking another significant milestone in its sustainability journey. The accreditation recognises the company's commitment to responsible waste management, environmental best practice and continuous improvement across its operations. By joining FESPA UK's Total Waste Management programme, bott is enhancing the way it manages waste while supporting its wider ESG commitments through greater transparency, accountability and recycling performance.

As vehicle graphics continue to play an increasingly important role in bott's vehicle conversion solutions, the business has invested in new processes to improve the recycling of PVC vinyl and silicone backing paper waste generated during production. Historically, these materials have been difficult to recycle. Working with FESPA UK's specialist recycling partners, bott can now ensure these materials are collected, processed and recycled into new products, helping to reduce pollution and conserve natural resources.

Investing in sustainable PVC vinyl recycling

As well as our ISO 14001 environmental management system accreditation, we are continually committed to sustainability throughout our business. Improving our recycling processes helps reduce our carbon footprint and improve the efficiency of waste collections. This investment, alongside achieving FESPA UK Waste Accreditation, supports our ESG policy as we continue working towards our long-term sustainability targets.

Supporting the initiative is the installation of a new twin baler, allowing PVC vinyl and silicone backing paper materials to be separated and compacted for more efficient collection and recycling. The investment is already delivering measurable environmental benefits, including:

  • Reducing general waste by approximately 300kg every month
  • Delivering an estimated annual CO₂e saving of 1,476kg
  • Reducing disposal costs and improving the efficiency of waste collections
  • Enabling more effective and efficient compacted collections through the new recycling process

The new recycling process ensures that PVC vinyl waste generated during the application of vehicle graphics is now recycled rather than being diverted for disposal. Instead, the material is recycled and transformed into practical new products, including traffic cones and other durable items, supporting the principles of a circular economy.
